Dr. Peter Blake is a Professor of Medicine and Nephrologist at the University of Western Ontario and London Health Sciences Centre in London, Ontario. He was appointed Medical Director of the Ontario Renal Network which administers renal services in the Canadian province of Ontario.  He is also a past President of the North American Chapter of the International Society of Peritoneal dialysis.

Over the past two decades, Dr. Blake’s principal research and education interests have been in the area of dialysis.  He has given over 300 invited talks in 25 different countries, published over 150 papers and been Editor of two major textbooks in Nephrology.  Dr. Blake was Editor-In-Chief of Peritoneal Dialysis International between 2004 and 2013.

Dr Martin Wilkie is a Consultant Renal Physician at the Sheffield Kidney Institute, Northern General Hospital, Sheffield, UK. He qualified from Manchester University and trained in nephrology in Manchester, London and Sheffield.
His research interests include new solutions for peritoneal dialysis and clinical trials in renal patients.  He is the current Editor-In-Chief of Peritoneal Dialysis International.
Dr Daniel Schwartz

Dr. Daniel Schwartz is a clinical assistant professor at the University of British Columbia, as well as the medical director of the Fraser Health renal program in British Columbia.   He received his clinical training at the University of British Columbia and the University of Toronto.

His clinical interests are focused on peritoneal dialysis and interventional nephrology.  As well, he has a keen interest in knowledge translation at the point of care and the intersection of information technology with clinical medicine.  He has co-developed the open source RenalConnect solution to optimize care in PD peritonitis, as well as point of care clinical decision support tools to optimize renal care on iOS, Android, Windows 10 and web.

Dr Paul Taylor is a Clinical Professor at University of British Columbia and formerly Director of the Peritoneal Dialysis programme at St Pauls hospital, Vancouver, BC, as well as former Chair of the British Columbia PD Committee. He trained at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London, England, with residencies in Vancouver and Duke University.

His interests are in peritoneal dialysis clinical care, CKD management and renal nutrition, and his practice includes regular visits to patients in the Yukon Territory of northern Canada.

Stephanie Allan is the event manager for ISPD Vancouver 2018.  Through her work at the BC Provincial Renal Agency, she has extensive experience planning and implementation healthcare conferences.

Her collaborative approach is focussed on ensuring successful events.   Strategies include liaising with the Planning Committee, Scientific Committee, venues and suppliers, while developing and maintaining the relationship with all stakeholders to ensure the conference is delivered in a professional, timely and cost effective manner.

Filomena Picciano is the current director of operations for the Canadian Society of Nephrology.   She has extensive experience in health conference planning & implementation.  Given the partnership between CSN and ISPD 2018, Fil plays a critical role in ensuring the meeting’s success.
